History

The Department of Business Administration (hereafter “the department”) was originally the Department of Business Management, Kinmen Division (2-year junior college program), of National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (the predecessor of the National Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences).

To fulfill the demand for in-service training in Kinmen, the University opened a two-year in-service training program in 2000.

In July 2005, the department  stopped enrolling students.

In August 2003, the Kinmen Division was restructured as the National Kinmen Institute of Technology. During this process, the Department of Business Management was merged with the Department of Finance to form the Department of Business Administration, which offered daytime courses for a four-year technical program.

In August 2004, the department opened a four-year in-service training program.

In August 2010, the National Kinmen Institute of Technology was restructured as National Quemoy University (hereafter “the University”). The department offered daytime courses for a bachelor’s program for senior high school graduates and a continuing education bachelor’s program.

In 2011, the department launched a second bachelor’s program for vocational high school graduates.

In 2015, the University established the Innovative Entrepreneurship and Island Management Master’s Program under the College of Business.

In 2016, the program was renamed to the Master’s Program of Business Administration under the Department of Business Administration.
