Positioning

    The development direction of the department aligns with the overall development of institutional and college affairs. The department aims to cultivate business administration talents who are mature and steadfast, possess the core competencies required for business management, and have a local perspective and global outlook. To ensure that graduates achieve the designated teaching objectives and develop core competencies, the course frameworks of the department clearly reflect the relationship between the courses, teaching objectives, and core competencies. This framework provides a reference for instructors who are designing their lessons and students who are taking the department’s courses, thereby ensuring favorable learning outcomes.
    Through the continued efforts of the department faculty, the department’s courses have developed unique features. In addition to focusing on the cultivation of professional knowledge on business administration, the courses emphasize the accumulation of practical experience. By applying case studies on corporations, teaching about the economic relationship between Taiwan and Mainland China, planning visits to Kinmen and Chinese corporations, and holding courses and events related to corporation internship, the department cultivates business administration talents with theoretical and practical knowledge on cross-strait relationships. In consideration of the accelerated development of corporate globalization, changes to the cross-strait economy, and the emergence of the green-energy industry, the department must continue to improve to become a business administration department that provides quality education. Therefore, the department cultivates graduates with professional competencies in business administration, cross-strait and global outlooks, and an awareness of social concerns; graduates are expected to contribute to Kinmen and the cross-strait region to create a prosperous and peaceful future for Taiwan and the ethnic Chinese society.
    The department collects and analyzes information related to the planning and positioning of the University and its colleges, the teaching objective of its colleges, national and social needs, and the relevant departments of benchmark schools to determine its positioning, teaching objectives, and core competencies. Additionally, the department references student learning needs and the opinions of stakeholders (including alumni and entrepreneurs) to evaluate its course design and student learning activities and review its allocation of faculty and teaching resources. Department meetings are held to discuss and confirm the development direction of the department and to evaluate and improve learning and teaching performance. The process and operational framework of the department development process, which emphasizes the planning of internal and external improvement mechanisms . These improvement mechanisms are expected to help the department achieve its teaching objectives and cultivate core competencies in its students. Through department meeting discussions, the positioning of the department was established as follows: “In accordance with social development needs, the department enrolls students with an interest in business operation and management and cultivates middle and executive management talents with a balanced focus on moral, intellectual, physical, social, and aesthetic education.”
    The teaching objectives and features of the department are based on the University’s positioning and teaching objectives. In accordance with the teaching objectives of the department, the teaching objective of the daytime courses for the bachelor’s programs is as follows: “To cultivate business administration talents who are mature and steadfast, possess the core competencies required for business management, and have a local perspective and global outlook.” The teaching objective of the continuing education bachelor’s program is as follows: “To cultivate business administration talents who are mature and steadfast, possess the core competencies required for business management, and have a digitalized and global outlook.”
