1. Innovative courses and teaching

    With a focus on innovative courses, in 2020, the department received funding from the College and University Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Promotion Program organized by the Ministry of Education to cultivate the innovative and entrepreneurship motivations and competencies of students in accordance with the promotional strategy of the Kinmen Startup Hub.
    The department regularly provides study abroad programs to offer students opportunities to attend courses held in Mainland China or Taiwan and invites faculty members or students from other universities in Taiwan to participate in study abroad programs offered by the department, including teacher training courses and student exchange courses. In recent years, the department has collaborated with numerous academic institutions, including the Department of Business Administration, National Taiwan Normal University Department; Executive Master of Business Administration, National Changhua University of Education; Department of Business Administration, Ming Chuan University; and College of Technology Management, National Tsing Hua University to launch various study abroad programs that help students to gain a global perspective.
    To normalize and professionalize internship courses, the department engaged in industry–academia collaborations to provide students with internship opportunities. At present, the department has signed contracts for long-term student internship programs with more than five corporations. Each year, approximately 50–60 senior students attend domestic or overseas industry internship programs. In accordance with the Regulations on Internship for Students, the department chair, homeroom teacher of the students, and two full-time faculty members are responsible for providing internship counseling to senior students during each academic semester, visiting the students on a regular basis, maintaining close communication with industry teachers, and supervising the internships of students in a timely manner. These internship courses promote industry–academia collaboration, bridge the industry–academia gap, and enhance the competitiveness of students.

2. Developing teaching professional communities

    Conform to institutional accreditation and department accreditation requirements and establish self-improvement mechanisms.
    Promote teacher research communities to improve teaching research outcomes and quality.
    Apply for the Academic Camp held by the Ministry of Science and Technology and encourage faculty members and students to learn about the latest research themes and methods in the field of management. 
    Emphasize the application of advanced management knowledge, balance theoretical and practical knowledge, utilize industry and government resources, and guide faculty members and students in performing academic and practical research.

3. Shaping a distinct department image

    Optimize the learning environment and equipment of the department, adjust or expand the learning space of the department if necessary, improve the image of the department within and outside the University, and increase the cohesiveness among faculty members and students.
    Use social media to promote the department, provide professional services, promote local industry–academia collaboration, and improve the professional image of the department
    Most faculty members concurrently serve as local industry advisors or independent directors of public sectors, thus they promote the social service spirit and professional image of the department. 

4. Hiring outstanding faculty members to teach courses

    The faculty members of the department are graduates of renowned academic institutions; all the professors of the department and more than 60% of its associate professors have a PhD degree. In addition to possessing enriched academic literacy and practical experience, the expertise of the department faculty encompasses various disciplines in business administration and English teaching, and their expertise aligns with the teaching objective of the department.

5. Featured courses

    Including featured topics in the planning of courses such as innovation and entrepreneurship programs, courses on cross-strait and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations market, and interdisciplinary courses. To cultivate interdisciplinary talents, the department has also co-established interdisciplinary credit courses with the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering and Engineering Management, and the Department of International and Mainland China Affairs; these courses include the Corporation Operation Information Manage and System Design Development course and the Operation and Management of Cross-Strait Corporations course. These courses are expected to provide students with a diverse selection of courses and help to expand their horizons, thereby allowing them to meet future employment demands.
